Le Chasseur - Bed & Breakfast in Montreal
We are a small unpretentious non-smoking establishment that offers you the best value for your money in Montreal. The strategic location of Le Chasseur, right in the heart of the city center of Montreal, allows you to reach the various districts of the metropolis in a very short distance. In just a few steps, there is the Latin Quarter and Saint-Denis street where you will be charmed by it numerous restaurants and bars. Several intimate cafés with a relaxed atmosphere lending to conversation will be waiting for you there. You will also find a large number of theaters and, in the sun, the terraces are a joy for those who sit at their tables. The biggest commercial street of the country, Sainte-Catherine Street, is only 125 meters away. The street begins in Westmount, crosses the city center: Crescent Street, Bell Centre, Place Ville-Marie, Place-des-arts, and close by UQAM and the Village, the gay district of the city. The already very dynamic street with its boutiques, discotheques, 'after-hours', restaurants, and cafés are transformed into a pedestrian street with numerous terraces (between Berri and Papineau) from the end of May until mid-September. A little more to the South, a few minutes of walking in one of the most beautiful parts of Old Montreal: historic houses, the charming Bonsecours church, Cirque du Soleil site where new shows are tested and the cobble stones of Saint-Paul street. A little further you'll see Place Jacques-Cartier, the Old-Port and the Notre-Dame basilica. Restaurants, museums, and others activities make this a destination of choice as much for Montrealers as for the visitors. Finally the Plateau, the young and trendy district is a ten minutes walk away northward. Saint-Louis Square sets the tone of this magnificent district. Appreciate the architecture and enjoy life with conuntless restaurants, shops and nightclubs that would charm the most difficult critics. Transportation, you ask? Come by plane, come by bus, we are 2 minutes walking distance (150 meters) of the bus station where the shuttle for the airport (Trudeau / Dorval) begins and ends. The train station is a 10 to 12 dollar cab route, about 12 minutes in the subway, 20 minutes walk. By car, we are 1 km away from of the National route 132 (Sherbrooke Street), from the highway 720 (exit 6) and from the Jacques-Cartier bridge. For getting around locally: we are right by the main metro station (Berri-UQAM), with access within 100 meters (take Saint-Hubert / place Dupuis exit). The #15 West bus stop is 25 meters away. Taxis can be at the door in 5 minutes of calling, or you can hail one on the street corner. You can also enjoy cycle touring with Bixi, the bicycle rentals, at $5 a day. There is a station with 20 bicycles at the door. With walking - the sidewalks are filled with pedestrians - as the best way to discover the city, the majority of points of interest are less than 30 minutes walk away from here. |
